Evergon + Reid https://galeriestlaurentplushill.com/ I am currently working with images I took while in the Kluane Icefield, Yukon, in 2022. I was invited to join Professor Luke Copland and his graduate students on their maintenance trip to the Icefield and glacier systems. Images I exhibited recently at the Korean Cultural Centre included the students working in the Icefields as they monitored, recorded and repaired the sensing equipment that they have installed over the years, so expanding our knowledge of climate change through their work. With the new paintings I am again focusing on climate change, through a series of views of the Kluane Icefield. It is the world’s largest non-polar icefield, the place of origin of many retreating glaciers in the Yukon, B.C. and Alaska. This exhibition, with long-time friend Evergon, continues my exploration of the North and climate change, with thanks to the many people I have had the good fortune to work with.
